525,600 Minutes

Today marks the end of another school year.  Every year my kids like to declare that they are now a grade older- officially.  This year, that statement brings on a slew of emotions I can't quite begin to describe.  This year, not only does my youngest officially enter her last year of middle school but my oldest enters her last year of high school.  Hannah is a senior!!  How did this happen?

A few days ago, as I was facing down this ominous day, I decided that I would blog each of the girls' senior years.  So here we go!

One of my favorite musicals is "Rent." Probably the most famous song from that musical recounts the year of a life as 525,600 minutes. As I sit on the couch creating this senior blog for Hannah, she sits across the room watching her favorite movie - not surprisingly a future movie maker's preferred celebration of summer break.
I can't help but look at her and think, "we only have a little over a year before she leaves for college." A number as large as 500,000 begins to feel like the blink of an eye.

Here we go!  Try not to blink.
